Launch of in-person payments:

In-person payments refer to buying in the store/ payment upon delivery, using a digital payment methods (such as ACH). With in-person payments enabled, your customers do not have to carry/keep cash, or use their cards. This can help you i) increase your AOV in the store, ii) avoid grey-area payment processing, and iii) ensure safety of delivery personnel.

To enable easy and quick in-person payments, we made some core changes to our payments experience: we split the signup and payments flow into two separate parts: Sign Up and Pay.  Why did we do this? To ensure the in-store/ delivery payment experience for a first-time customer is smooth.

In Store: By doing so, we ensured that a first-time user in the checkout line will not need to hold up the retail queue. At each dispensary where we have set up The customer can sign-up anywhere, and simply scan the right QR code (which can be dynamic or static) at the checkout counter. This way, the customer's average time in queue, isn't impacted.

Delivery:  We designed our in-person flow to be most accessible to a customer awaiting delivery. Alongside the delivery on the way notification, by sending a notification to the customer regarding digital payments, the customer can link their bank credentials, and scan a QR upon delivery to pay in one tap. This is the easiest and most seamless in-person delivery experience, for both the customer and the delivery-person. Further, payments at the time of delivery reduce risk for the delivery person (who would otherwise need to carry cash, or a machine to accept card payments (which are anyway not strictly legal)

Apart from splitting the payment flow, the most important feature focus for in-person payments is Pay Swifter's ability to help you reconcile every transaction with your POS system. If you are already integrated with our payment partners, you can make use of our auto-linking and dynamic QR flow. If not, we allow you to manually link the ticketing id to the payment such that your operations and retail staff can easily track and reconcile the POS transactions in the day across your bank and POS system to find which deposits are missing.

SOC2 compliance

We started working towards our SOC2 Audit Certification. Maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance are key goals for us at Swifter. A SOC2 certification will confirm that we have and maintain internal standards that assure robust information security.

We care about making sure your customer data is stored and handled in a secure manner. By completing our SOC2, we will be able to confirm to our clients that we have the infrastructure, tools, and processes to protect their information from unauthorized access both from within and outside the firm.

Towards this end, we worked on technical architecture, code security reviews, backup and storage policies and streamlined our terms. We hope to complete the audit period successfully and gain our certification soon.
